Lang Vineyards (Holman Lang)
Okanagan Valley Marechal Foch
A real constant for Lang over the years. I have no idea what to do with this food pairing wise, and I'm not going to sit here and say this is some sort of uncovered treasure in Naramata, but it's a unique-ish wine and one worth exploring. It always seems we're arriving at the Lang tasting room out of breath at exactly 5:30pm as the last employee is trying to get out of there for the day being that their tasting room stays open a half hour later than most places. It's that anticipation of the final tasting of the day that makes this wine even more special. It's not like others on the bench. It's sweet. It's California Raisin-y. Probably more chocolate-covered than Amarone though with all that sweetness. Rather than looking for a pairing, this one shines best at the end of a sunny day paired with nothing and no one. It's not bad... It's unique.
