Why adding Merlo?
I think, using the international sort of grape in the traditional Italian wine is some kind of a betrayal.
Valpolicello is the grate region with the traditions and the autochtonic sorts can provide all you need for the grate wine. Nevertheless the vintage is good enough for the daily drinking with some plain food such as salad or cheese or pasta.
