Smoke, pepper, vanilla, red currant, violets, with a touch of something sanguine. The group consensus was this could be love child of northern Rhone Syrah and Gamay. Maybe a touch of Monduese? Light.

Like many Valle d’Aoste single grape wines, the color is part of the enjoyment. Purple-red in the glass, with aromas of pepper and vanilla. Low acidity, but with very high tannins, and red berry flavors. Wonderful!
