Kirkland Signature
Rutherford Meritage
Granted, there aren't many candidates for "best Bordeaux blend from Rutherford for under $15," but this would have to be near the top of the pack. Merlot dominant, and nicely framed by Cab Sauv and Cab Franc. Not bad, Costco. Not bad.

Fruity nose of blackberries, plums, cherries, strawberries, currants, vanilla, licorice, earth, spices, peppercorn, leather, smoke, chocolates, green vegetables and herbs.
Medium bodied and smooth with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with cherries, plums, vanilla, licorice, earth, red currants, coffee, oak, tobacco, cola, herbs, spices and black pepper.
Nice finish with soft tannins and raspberries.
A nice Bordeaux blend from California. Soft with a smooth mouthfeel. Nicely balanced with interesting acidity.
Good by itself or with food. Better after 20 minutes of airtime, but good right out of the bottle. It became tart after a couple of hours, so drink it quickly...
I paired it with a cheese plate and crackers.
I had it a year ago, and it is better now with nicer complexity. Could be nice in the next few years.
A blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 7% Petite Verdot, 5% Malbec and 1% Cabernet Franc.
14.9% alcohol by volume.

Jul 7th, 2019Plum, a bit tart. Let if breathe. Nice cherries and a nice mouth feel. Nice blend and enjoyable at the price.

Nov 2nd, 2017Meritage arbitrage! This wine is modestly priced so you profit from quaffing a bottle. Cherry, black currant, cinnamon, alcohol is a little high, but you will be too.
