Compared to the Chassagne, this was less dressed up but just as intense; and was a little more compelling, but neither moved me. Fruit-forward on the nose, with ripe lemons and stone fruits taking center stage. Some beeswax and autolytic notes add complexity. The palate was very textural and stony, especially with air. All in all a delicious Chard, but it just didn’t stand out during the night.
