A meritage at the Meritage Cabin. Full bodied blend with finite polished subtle tannins. Dark red fruits of vanilla infused pomegranate and dark red pie cherry.

Similar note to my last bottle, decanted this time and did the trick. Opened quickly with dark currants and a tannic bite on the back end. Pleasant on a Thursday evening.

Light ruby in the glass with wide edges. Super earthy nose of blackberries, tobacco, cherries, and damp moss. As big of a fan as I am of California’s take on Bordeaux, sometimes they don’t always work. Especially when they’re more reminiscent of the thin and bland Bordeaux variety. After that beautiful nose comes a ton of fruit. Tired strawberries, stewed plums, and a bit too much oak. It gets better the second day with the sharpness of the acid calming down but overall, it just leaves you flat.

65% cab franc, 20% cab sauv, 15% merlot. On opening a bit of tart cherry but that is softening and offering more dark fruit now that it's been open an hour. Pale ruby & Rustic, with dusty tannins adding some grip on the finish.
