From Polar’s Australian wine tasting. Mellow with soft pliant Tannins in a more drink now style. Interestingly John Duval was chief winemaker at Penfolds for 29 years when most of the previous Penfolds wines just tasted were made. This wine made very differently to how he made them at Penfolds.

Continued vertical tasting of John Duvall Winery Shiraz 2015 vs 2016. Well from the highs of 2015 we dropped off the cliff with 2016. Narrow, tight, herbal green grass/green pepper. What a difference with the previous year. We put half a bottle away for the next day and tried again. It did get better as it gained more fruit body. Still very single note.
