“I don’t know. There’s something at the beginning. Like a woodsy kind of thing. I don’t know how to describe it. I don’t know. You didn’t like it the last time we had it. But it’s been about a year. I bought a case of it. It’s aged a year in the cellar (basement)” - Nelson

Smells musty and funky at first, but given a little bit of air and time the smell of cherries and raspberries emerges. Taste is of sour cherries with a sweet fruit behind the initial sourness ... not much mind you, but enough to keep the tastes changing in your mouth.

Lean, bright red fruit. Enjoyed with a slow-roasted pork loin with herbes d'provence, creamed turnips, a roaring fire on a cold and rainy night.

13% booze (I think?), about $23, sample. Earthy, truffley nose is textbook Burgundy but it's so much prettier on the palate. Aces.
