Delectable- this is actually Ralph’s Dry Grown Grenache from the Clarendon Wood Vineyard. Comparing with the Kay’s tasted 2 days ago. Both 100% Grenache Both from McLaren vale but noticeably different. This is very earthy rustic and hipster than the Kay’s which is more old school and polished. Medium bodied. Naturally made from a biodynamic Vineyard - no added sulphides etc. A Herbal weedy aspect which I took to be a % if not 100% whole bunch fermentation. Low acid and low tannins. Short term cellaring.

Biodynamic in the Vineyard and a very natural winemaking regime - no added sulphites etc. Surprisingly light Ruby in colour for the corresponding power on the palate with blackberry pepper and stalks. Fresh and vibrant , just a terrific wine. My wife thought the best so far this year! A very big call!!

May 3rd, 2017Ralph's Dry Grown Grenache. Showing fresh primary fruit flavours. A refreshing light to medium bodied red made to be drunk now - a shade more full bodied than a Rose with light tannins. Biodynamic with no added sulphites - a "Hipster" wine!!
