Mar 11th, 2019Last bottle of this vintage, paired with veggie lasagna. Dense red with purple. Red fruit, fruit leather and mint notes in nose initially. Blueberry, cherry and cassis flavors with length, hints of black olive and, later, white pepper. Medium grain tannins initially with a warm finish. Tannins gradually fade away, leaving nice varietally expressive fruit profile. Tasty and fun to drink

Good body, acidity. Bottle variation is probably behind the lower rating for most recent tasting of same vintage.

Jan 21st, 2018Second tasting here. Dense purple. Spearmint, tutti-frutti and cherry notes in nose. Cherry-cassis in mouth, with time plum with length, moderate skin astringency, wood and spice in finish. Needs time to open. Seems to have lost something since last tasting.

Nov 19th, 2017Dense purple red. Cassis, cherry, briar, blackberry and soy notes in nose. Blackberry cherry (with great length, once open awhile) tar and soy notes in mouth. Slight black pepper/seed tannin finish. Blackberry cassis aftertaste with fine skin tannins. Can age more but tasting fine now
