Alas, my last bottle of this vintage. Holding up well; previous tasting notes still hold. Winemaker suggests it’s good through 2028, seems on track

Dense, inky purple, highly extracted pigment. Black currant and butter aromas with a hint of spearmint. Blackberry and spearmint flavors, some cherry and violet-floral on finish. Smooth mouthfeel, chalky tannins on initial pour. Moderate skin astringency, some lingering seed bitterness alongside those lingering fruit flavors. Restrained acidity but nicely balanced between varietal flavor profile and tannic structure. Mild barrel character emerges after two hours

Revisiting 2015 vintage. Less black currant in nose, but largely the same as my previous tasting so far.

Jongleur Petit Verdot red table wine, Columbia Valley, Dionysus Vineyards, 292 cases made. Dense purple red, highly extracted pigment. Butter, black currant and spearmint notes in nose initially. Black currant flavor with lots of chewy tannins, with a slightly salty black licorice finish. Allow 30 minutes to open; nuanced, lightly flavored but depth of fruit, good acidity, an undercurrent of anise, fruit and floral character, but well integrated. Moderate skin astringency.

Dense highly extracted purple. Plum, black currant, cola and barnyard notes in nose with a hint of eucalyptus and spice. Blueberry, black currant flavors, coffee in the finish. Some lightly chewy fine-grained tannins (later expresses as moderate skin astringency) and seed bitterness in finish as well. This is probably my favorite red from Isenhower. The 2014 is tasting different and arguably less complex than their 2013 and 2014 PV, but still tasty in my book. The barnyard may be too persistent for some, however.

Deep dense purple. Cola and spearmint notes in nose. Cola and cherry flavors in mouth. Tart finish initially, with time more integration of flavors. A recurring favorite.

Purple red in color. Cola red fruit and vanilla in nose. Spearmint, lemon and red fruit in mouth, skin tannin astringency on finish. Age worthy, will need some time or aeration to open up

Columbia Valley. Deep purple. White pepper, rose, plum and violet in nose. White pepper cherry with raspberry, strawberry and vanilla finish. Rounded, well balanced, light touch on tannins, though astringency builds on finish over time. Worth tasting over an hour or two to watch it develop.
