I’m told this is declassified yquem, and it certainly tastes that way. Similar profile but a step down

Only dessert wine I’ve actually enjoyed so far! Tropical notes, not too sweet.

Drinking well, especially for the price. Starting to show some oxidative character, no need to hold.

Not a big fan of Sauternes, but I loved this one.

Fantastic not just for the price but balance as well. Not overly sweet. The nose on this makes me want to try it with a coconut cake next time.

Is it really baby d'Yquem? Who knows. Certainly a fun conversation starter and a nice coda to #BroMas.

Everyone says it's declassified second label Yquem. There! I said it! Well, it's great breakfast wine, mello! With French toast and canned Spanish octopus in marinara. The octopus was off, which I realized 6 bites in, with strong lingering ammonia quality and a chemical crunchiness that should not be found in canned seafood. In fact, there were strange crystals to be found throughout, however, they lent not so much flavor to the octopus, but an ever so slight burning to the nostrils. The French toast was delish, with a bit of south of the border spice, as it was cooked in the not quite clean cast iron skillet from last night's chicken adobo. I threw the octopus away, vomited, and opened a box of Turkish Delight and totes finished the bottle of Sauternes.
