Apr 5th, 2021Hartford Old Vines Zin from Russian River Valley. Diabolical Cali zin with a strong aroma of crushed Pomegranates. Deep, concentrated and full throttle. Chewy and jammy core with all the silliness of a 1000 ballerinas dancing gently on my tongue. On point and outrageous. A fantastic wine with which to relax.

Boom goes the Zin. The depth of field consists of explosive black raspberry followed by massive black cherry. A plethora of tertiary components, including white pepper, black licorice, leather, tobacco, and spice provide evidence of the century old vines. Goes strength to strength with the ridiculously silky mouthfeel. Not to mention, the alcohol is felt in the legs, not the mouth. It's 15.7% abv and it's only after I felt it did I check it.

Lots of juicy ripe black, blue and red berries along with some underripe fruit as well. Plenty of nose. On the palate, reflects the nose with the ripe fruit dominating. A nice firm structure with balancing acidity. Drink up!
