Tart sour cherries, intense and full bodied. Tried with Taylor and friends at Mexican Food Factory on Rt 70 in Marlton along with a glass of Cape May Turtle! Another a little sour but what flavors! Bravo ... Thursday live band as usual 7-10... No cover too

More interesting than delicious I'm afraid. Sweaty searing tart red cherry kriek character seems to me a touch too severe austere both a little over the funky line and I keep wishing it had just a little RS to take the edge off. Interesting for food pairings but solo, not my favorite.

Opens with a minor thwap. Intensely cherry, and an intense sourness mostly covers the sweetness, which is not as pronounced as the aroma suggests.

Funk master. Tart, piercing and oh so sweaty. Bottled Jan. '15.

Hmmm. Interesting. Not my kind of drink, but it offers complexity. Great with fried chicken 😋 B&S write-up:

This oddity of a kriek beer is rare indeed, for not only is it from one of Flanders’ original lambic breweries, it’s also made from a near-extinct sour cherry from the town of Schaerbeek. Historically nicknamed the “city of donkeys”, as donkey-drawn carts used to transport this rare Belgian varietal of sour Morello cherries, the prized fruit contains a level of depth, power and concentrated tartness which is about as close to an expression of terroir as you can find in beer.

Here, 25% old lambic beer is blended with 75% young lambic beer (made with whole handpicked Schaerbeekse cherries), before conditioning in bottle. It’s a rather straightforward process but proves to be genius – bold notes of dark berries, cherries, citrus, earth and almonds are just the beginning with this captivating offering – pour it into a big wine glass for a special taste of oude school authenticity.

Schaerbeek cherries are an heirloom found only in Belgium just NW of Brussels.. It's funky fresh with with a exotic herbal nectar flower and acid that will make you drool; grab a napkin and a fermented food anything

The thing is, this is one area where I don't mind a little sweetness and so BOON is Delish, imho. But.......that's not to say this isn't some beautiful juice. Full bodied and hints of cherry on top of a solid lambic. #cantgowrong
