Gramercy Cellars
Two Blondes Vineyard Cabernet Franc
This a club member only wine sourced from their Two Blondes Vineyard and cellared in 225 liter barrels for 18 months. On the nose; bright cherries, blackberries, strawberries, ball park chewing gum, rose petals, potpourri, gravel and tobacco. The palate is lean but fresh & delicious. Bright cherries, strawberries, potpourri, pepper, light herbs, smoke, tobacco-cigar, dry stones, cedar, round fresh acidity, rich, lush, round long finish. This one is chug-able. Their Cabernet Franc is somewhere between Loire & Bordeaux in style. Photos of their tasting bar, tasting room and owner Greg Karrington's Master Sommelier degree. Perhaps one of the harder feats in life to accomplish. He and his partner Brandon Moss are co-owners and Winemakers.

Aug 12th, 2017Such nice restraint on the level of ripeness, good red fruit & lively acidity, low tannins. Evergreen from oak, could use more time to integrate. Polished & well done

Very interesting minerality on the nose. Very light mouthfeel, body. Light tannins, not a big player @ all. At 12% ABV, it was probably picked on the early end of the spectrum.
The thing definitely needs to integrate. Needs some fruit to start coming out.
Really interesting. I'm excited to see what a few hours open will do to it. I have a few extra bottles that I'll probably leave alone for about 5 yrs at least (God, help me.)
I'm happy that Gramercy is making wines in this philosophical vein. Low alcohol, acid, balance. We'll see if it balances out over time.
