Gönc
6 Blaufränkisch
A.k.a. Lemberger, locally grown in Washington state but benchmarking vs. Slovenian product here. Deep burgundy red in color, moderately extracted pigment. Black currant, sage, leather and some funk in nose. Herbal-thyme, spearmint-menthol and red fruit (plum-cherry) flavors. Light to moderate skin astringency, lots of tannins so needs time to open. Slightly tart. Some salinity on finish. Decent red.

Aug 3rd, 2021Simple. Jammy. Clean finish. Nothing bad, but nothing interesting. Can do better for the price.
