Very pronounced nose of dark berries, blueberries, blackberries, sweet cherry pie, black currants, Oak( chips?), vanilla, licorice, light cloves, plums, dark chocolates, cocoa, cinnamon and spices.
Full-bodied with medium acidity and nice looking legs.
Very fruity on the palate, almost off dry, with blueberries, blackberries, plums, cherries, oak, vanilla, cloves, licorice, chocolates and spices.
Medium plus on the finish, with soft tannins, tart cherries and black pepper.
This is a nice Zinfandel from Lodi, California. Not too complex, but enjoyable for $9, by itself or with food. Would be great as a party wine, or for anyone that wants to start drinking red wine.
Nothing special here, but not bad in any way. Good right out of bottle.
