I believe this is my first Aussie Cab. Not having tried one previously it's hard to properly rate or compare it, not having any sort of reference. Far less complex than I would like and surprisingly grapey. The heat of the growing region is apparent, but the overall nose seems muted. For a '04 I would like to see a bit more on the palette, but this one is pretty straight forward: dark red fruits and a bit of earth. I may be partial to California Cabs, but this one just seems to be off the mark.
