St. Joseph, Northern Rhône, Rhône, France
A brave and round st jo. Blackberry and pepper on the nose. No trace of other usual northern Rhône Syrah tells. The palate is all roundness and thus pretty well balanced. It lacks a bit of asperity to be grand though. A good grip though, a bit of tannins a good fruit all along the acid backbone but all very well mixed and without any kick to be felt. A milky mouthfeel too. Finish with fruits, quite fresh. A pinch of black pepper too.

Lots of movements, but this wasn't the glorified CDR we thought it would be: reckon this here rounds up rather than down. Big, leather-meat, nasty ol grill.

This wine is just a 15€ treasure. The Guy works perfectly with the terroir he has. A nose full of spices and a hint of mint. A long body of red fruits and a touch of wildness that you'll always find with St. Joseph Wines. A pure delight. 2008 and 2009 vintages to be soon tasted
