Oct 28th, 2016Fantastic Syrah. Gilbert Cellars consistently makes one of my favorite Syrahs in Washington and the 2012 is my favorite one so far.
The nose is fantastic. Lots of coffee and chocolate notes along with brambly dark fruit and toasted bread and a hint of campfire. The nose alone is amazing but the palate is equally impressive with luscious dark fruit and spice. Well balanced full body with a solid tannin structure. Overall, one of my favorite Syrahs out there for the price ($30 at the tasting room).
