Tight on open. Early on was linear and focused. Then got round and flabby. Big fruit but restrained in alcohol. Tbd on this for the long haul. But their 1997 Merlot is rocking so you never know.

Meat, smoke, herb and chocolate (later on in the evening) on the nose. Red fruit, rich raspberry, flowers, chocolate, acid and tannin. Some smoke. Could age for a long time. One of the best from Carmel Valley.
