Gale's Prize is becoming increasingly difficult to source since it was last brewed in 2006 when Fuller's bought the parent brewery. This one, the only spirit barrel aged version produced, is the rarest of all. The Calvados barrel's direct effect has faded by this point, but has left a thinner, more dry and vinous mouthfeel compared to the original version. Truth be told the original has proven to be a much better ager, but this was still quite a treat.
