Sangiovese is a red Italian wine grape variety that derives its name from the Latin sanguis Jovis, "the blood of Jupiter". It is Italy's most well-known and widely planted red grape variety. Fratelli Sangiovese 2015 is a deep red dry wine with a medium body. It has flavours of ripe cherry and ripe blackberries with a lingering oaky finish. The grapes for this wine are grown in Motewadi (near Akluj in Maharashtra) which has a rocky soil structure and the wine has good acidity and tannins. This wine would be perfect for a sundowner and will pair well with medium spiced Indian food, particularly Mutton Biryani and Veg Biryani.
