I was very surprised that a Fort Ross Seaview wine was so big and generous Tangerine/orange zest, black cherry, cranberry, raspberry, bramble, blue berry, black berry, black tea, celery and cardoons, medium acidity.

Loads of raspberries and damp soil on opening. Palate shows spicy black pepper with layers of damp earth, red and black fruits and great depth. M+ acidity, with a touch of heat on the finish. Sonoma meets burgundy.

I managed to hunt down a bottle of the wine that was served at my wedding 10 years ago this week. It hasn't aged as well as my marriage, but that would be a tall order.

Quite tannic for pinot noir, I believe there was moderate use of new oak on this wine. Could lay down for a few years before consuming, the tannins were invasive but overall flavor profile shows some great promise.
