Columbia Valley. Dense burgundy red, highly extracted pigment. Herb and cherry with a hint of mint in nose. Medium bodied with strawberry and black and white pepper flavors and a good slug of seed bitterness. Decanting… After 24 hours in bottle, crisp acidity emerges with strawberry, cocoa and a solid but pleasant tannic backbone. Lovely varietal expression if you can show the patience by decanting. Not like any Washington state Barbera I’ve had before, but better.
