Deep and rich - dark plum, rich spices - black pepper. Barb said red roses in the aromatics. On the medium to full bodied palate, savoury dried meats. This went well with stewed chicken legs - both savoury. Many would like a lighter red wine, even a full bodied white but this works well. The Mount Barker region produces excellent Shiraz and Riesling. The Block 9 Shiraz is a single site wine from dry grown wines planted in 1985. One of my favourite wine styles.

Delectable this is the Block 9 Shiraz, not offered in your Database. Typical peppery Mount Barker Shiraz. Dense Ruby with a crimson rim. A note of cigarette fine cut rolling tobacco and blue fruits. A medium bodied palate with spice and pepper. Savoury with medium minus fruit influence. Good length and M+ persistence. Visited the district and this winery about 4 years ago in 2019. I have always loved this style of Shiraz. Gold medal and Trophy Best WA Red at 2018 Perth Royal Wine Show.
