Nice Syrah, with milder and more pleasant cherry flavor than I'm used to. Notes: Very solid, with a deliciously winey core of mulled black cherry, currant, pepper, maduro tobacco and iron all rolled together and then running through the juicy finish. 90 Points Wine Spectator The potentially outstanding 2009 Crozes-Hermitage La Matiniere (100% Syrah) exhibits lots of red and black currant fruit intertwined with hints of tomato paste, licorice and pepper in a richly fruity, fresh, medium to full-bodied style.
