Tasted October 2013

Torre dei Venti, literally "tower of winds", is indegineos Nero d'Avola from very heart of Sicily (Erice), aged for 10 months in cask followed by 12 months of aging in bottle.

Appearance of nice deep dark crimson color, accompanied by intense opening fragrances of prunes, blackberry jam, black cherry and traces of sun-dried strawberry. Evolves with violet, garnet, blueberry, vanilla and savory.
Mouthfeel is rich with aromas correspondent to the nose, plus chocolate hint and velvety tannic attack being balanced nicely.
Persistent finish with main hint of of prunes, black cherry, spices.
Full-bodied, impressive wine with strong character, would pair nicely any grilled, spicy or cured meat and matured cheeses.
