Elegant ruby in color with medium intensity and a purplish rim.

Extremely Stinky nose of barnyard, earth, leather, green pepper, red currants, oak, smoke, plums, peppercorn, spices and herbs.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, bell pepper, sweet raspberries, earth, vegetables, forest floor, smoke, peppercorn and spices.

Medium plus in finish with soft tannins and tart strawberries.

A nice, easy drinking Pinotage from South Africa.
Very close to being balanced, but not there yet. Simple, but very smooth with a light mouthfeel.

The nose is so strong and pungent, that it diminished the whole pleasure, but the palate was really nice. After 2 days in the fridge, the wine changed dramatically, with a beautiful nose of wildflowers. A couple of years in the bottle would be suggested.

I paired it with a cheese plate of hard and soft cheeses.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

Wood and coffee. I didn't expect it to go well with my lemon cookie but it did.
