Ernest Wein
Alsace Pinot Blanc
Tasted 31/05/2016
Ernest Wein is a brand of La Cave des Vignerons de Pfaffenheim.
My bottle had must from inside of cork, but luckily wine was not affected (behind its peak, though).
Withered straw color.
Nearly absence of nose. Ephemeral whiffs of white plum, blossoming orange, soaked apple, sun-dried apricot, trace of mint.
Medium-bodied, creamy palate with nicely embedded acidity. Raisin, apricot, peach, alycha scents.
Surprisingly lengthy finish: white strawberry, peach and even ripe lychee (sic!)
Pair: salmon tartare.
