Dark clear violet red. I associate Malbecs with velvety tannins and smooth blueberries, but this one is clear and zippy. The nose and palate are both dried tart cherries with tantalizingly old world dirty tobacco and wet leather. Acid is bright and invigorating, and the tannins are young and gripping. I get only a hint of blueberries on the finish; this is firmly and unapologetically bright rich cherries. Well-extracted. Young. High altitude. Elements of deep richness, but captured in raw vibrance. Obviously I think this wine is pretty cool.
