Ok, it’s all about the label here and I’m not ashamed to admit that. But we are talking about a Spring Mountain Cab so let’s see what we’ve got.
Dark purple in the glass with a touch of brickish red rim. The nose opens right on up and immediately showcases oak and more oak. Big aromas of dried cherries and cranberries. There’s also a touch of herbal essences just for good measure.
That glorious Spring Mountain fruit is the star here. After decanting for an hour or so this really does open up with red and blue berries and hints of vanilla. The finish is a bit short but so is life. Good stuff, beyond the label.
