Smoke, vanilla, and plum. Definitely needs 10-20 minutes to open up. Not much after taste. Some unidentifiable spice flavor. Ate with lamb.

Deep red violet glass with translucent crimson rim. Big deep nose of cassis, prune, licorice, plum. blackberry, black cherry, black plum, tobacco, leather, cedar and a hint of vanilla. Smooth medium body palate with medium acid of slightly sweet dark cocoa, cassis, the black fruits, and black pepper. Soft small chalky tannins lead to a pleasing long finish of black pepper with toffee hints. Decant for a while to open aromas. Very good balance and structure make this a very good value at 21.99 USD.
