An amazing 2014 Cabernet Franc in my glass from Lori & Michael Budd of Dracaena Wines. Aromas of blackberry, lavender, white pepper and brown sugar caramel. Flavors of blackberries, herbes de Provence, vanilla, white pepper with a touch of roasted sweet peppers on the finish. Pleasant acidity, supple tannins and a lingering tapering finish.

Medium to dark Crimson color, this Cab Franc had a rich softness in the mouth that brought out the dark red and black fruit along with spice and pepper. Tannins were well balanced and the finish added an herbaceous layer. If you are not familiar with Cab Franc and would like to try it, this is a great example to start with.

Oct 8th, 2018This Cabernet Franc is pure joy. Aromas and flavors of black raspberry, cherry, violets, cinnamon and milk chocolate. Very silky with good weight on the midpalate. The finish is long, with fine tannins and the right amount of acid that leaves you wanting the next sip. Cabernet Franc fans need to stock up on this wine; with small production, it is one you don't want to miss. Drinking beautifully now, but could easily cellar another 7-10 years.
