Deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits and spice notes. On the palate ripe blackberry and blueberry fruit with rustic spice and a bit of sweetness. Soft tannins, medium finish ending with an earthy spice tang.

Super jammy, high alcohol, maybe less sweet than some other zins.

For an inexpensive wine, it has a lot to offer. It needs a serious decant, but after rewards a chewy dense pallet, full of black plum, black raspberry, mocha, black pepper, and smokey dark chocolate. It feels like a baby version of Helen Turley Zins.. the Jam factor is at the tip of the threshold that I prefer, with decent balance.

Did I mention it is a $12 bottle of Zin? It is at the very least over performing.

From TW, excellent wine with lots of body Vanderploeg flavor without being overwhelming; perfect balance for drinking alone or with food.
