Blaufränkisch

I expected this to be fruit forward (nouveau Beaujolais or carbonic maceration aromas) about 2 percent residual sugar not interesting and not my style

Opened this in memory of a Hungarian father in law that died 5 years ago today. The wine was sweeter than expected. Fitting. :)

Like a kafka. Sweet but not super overbearing

I was looking for a dry Austrian Blaufrankisch, but could only find this. Was worried it would be too sweet. It is sweet but the complex flavors make it really delightful to drink.

Bought this to make mulled wine: other than the fact that it didn’t have much tannins nor body, its sweetness did the job. Alone, nose is sweet and musky, tastes like light raspberry jam, and ends with a wisp of blue cheese. Aperitif or dessert - it does what it says!

Sweet, but very tasty, would definitely buy again!
