My first Rhone blend. This particular wine consists of 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvèdre. The flavor notes all seemed to exude a rustic, earthy quality. Leather, tobacco, aged oak and a bit of cherry. The finish was very interesting and I still can't quite place the taste but I think it had a jasmine quality further supporting the overall earthiness. I would classify this as a full-bodied red. It has a dark ruby color but not quite as deep as most Cabernets. I enjoyed the moderate acidity which balanced a rather high alcohol content. This is one I'd like to try again some day.
