Cuvée l'Ebrescade Côtes du Rhône Villages Red Rhône Blend

I adore this wine. Nose is big cassis blackberry, red currant, herbs de Provence, garrigue, minerals and clay. This always needs air but man is this roaring out of the gates. Palate is so juicy, so nimble and just bursting with incredible fruit. Amazing purity and such tiny berry fruit intensity. This is so Balanced and shockingly showing no heat which is usually part of the program with this cuvee but not this one. Man this is delicious. Such vibrancy and depth. Big ripe tannins and lovely granite and minerals. Also herbal and such a long finish. Wonderful. This will breathe and get better. Amazing concentration and maybe the best fruit I’ve had on a young l’ebrescade.

Purple fruit and Christmas spices, plum pudding. Some VA that works to give this a complex, savage element. Palate is like juice squeezed from fresh, tart, just-ripe blackberries. Actually a little reminiscent of cru Beaujolais - is this carbonic?- but with a unique volume and spicy complexity and a reverberant streak of acid. Very interesting bottle, unexpected for southern Rhone.

Unfortunately this has become very microbial on day 2.

I adore this wine. A weakness of mine. It need so much time. Nose is gorgeous. Mint. Ripe and floral. Berry fruit. So dense. So layered. So precise. But deep. Really impressive. Palate is so damn impressive. Smokey and pure with ripe and elegant tannins. Awesome. Best bottle by far of this 2012. Has really come into its own. Concentrated and so elegant with terrific structure. Sweet and granitic fruit. Awesome purity. Really great wine. Fresh and ridiculously energetic. Incredible harmony here. So long. You gotta really really wait on these for them to show well. Worth the wait.

Hoo-boy ripe off the bat. But soon calms down into a lovely melange of blackberry coulis, lavender, raspberry, graphite, lead, granite, mineral. Powerful and distinct aromas. The palate is deep and enormously sweet with lovely depth, purity and super focused. Amazing freshness. Really just a baby. But this is the best bottle I’ve had of this. Smokey, bacon and flowers and fruit is a great combo. For such a big boy it sure is fresh and delicates. 33/33/33 GSM essentially.

The one and only. One of the most delicious and singular wines on the planet. This would be on my list of top 10 overlooked wines on the planet. The nose is banging. Big cassis, lavender, herbs, kirsch and flowers. So refined. Some black and blue berries. Just so vivid and detailed. No Cairanne can touch this wine. Perfect balance. Stunning texture, exquisite fruit and gorgeous purity. Ripe but not too ripe and so much finesse. A big wine that’s not big. Elegant and refined tannins. Truly outrageous. I adore this wine. Young but so so good. Can age 25 years. Why wait? Concentrated and just teeming with energy. Treacly texture and such sapidity. Luscious.

I love this wine and will always sell it. Not many people share my passion for this wine. Still, I’ll always sell it. An unreal nose of raspberry spice cake that is so good. Heavenly. Big time herbs de Provence. Clay. Graphite as well. This is 60% Mourvèdre, 25% Syrah and 15% Grenache. Mint. Lurid black and red berry. This is my favorite southern Rhone wine and it is not close. This is my southern Rhone DRC. Impossibly complex and captivating nose. You cannot stop smelling it. Oh my god. Mercury must be in retrograde tonight as all wines showing sick. Holy elegance. Just so elegant. This is 15%! You would not know. Amazing purity. Such clarity. For people interested this is natural wine as Marcel Richaud is as important to natural wine as Lapierre or Chauvet. This is his piece de resistance. Best one I’ve had since 2010. I cannot believe how juicy and elegant this is. It glides. So so so so good.

Ok. It’s 33/33/33 GSM and my god this thing is art genius bomb wine. Incredible nose that is super focused and so pretty. Loads of red and black fruits and huge blue fruits. Gorgeous herbs and so dark. Juicy. Brooding. Stunning in how wild it is and also at the same time how clean it is. Raspberry and mint. Just stunning beyond belief. Palate is just ridiculous. It is so juicy and so clean with incredible structure and freshness. My god what purity there is here and insane body but yet retains such lightness. Amazing tannins and grip. Just fucking genius wine. Finishes with lingering spice and juiciness. So long. Epic:
