J Côtes du Tarn Jurançon Noir

100% Jurançon Noir in Gaillac. Planted in 1930. Cordes Plateau part of the appellation, more limestone here. This was previously sold from tank at the cellar door. Really needed to be in bottle and meet and greet New York. #TheVineCollective

Effervescent. Light cologne and b.o. Yum.

Drinks almost like a Torraine cab franc, but more sour patch. Yum, but this is my style

There are reasons Jurançon Noir has never caught on...

Holy spicy dark graphite (darker and more intense than a Cabernet Franc)

Spice was interesting at first - but overall kinda "meh".

Spicy with lots of tannins - great for $15

Not for the causal wine drinking. Proceed with caution. Came covered in a very cool crown cap but is not a bubbly wine. Funky and spicy, it demands a good counterpart food wise for balance. Great geeky wine though!

Tobacco at the front, smoky graphite and pencil shavings at the finish. Really light body with fascinating character... Not for everyone.
