This one's a big boy, but not ponderous, lots of minerals and earth, mouth-filling soft texture, a great warming winter wine. The whole key to a warming winter wine is to have the dark richness, thickness, and density without the clumsy cloying headache-inducing heaviness that usually accompanies those characters. Weight without heaviness. Easier said than done. Somehow Gauby does it.
