Vineyard adjacent to its more famous Chateau neighbor, down the riverside on an island. Second tasting for me. Ruby red, moderate pigment extraction. Tight on initial pour, some suggestion of red fruit, mostly currant, round acidity and a mix of seed and skin tannins on the finish. Let it breathe 60 minutes, strawberry flavor emerges. The next day, strawberry, tart cherry and black currant flavors dominate, tannins fully softened with a slight peppery finish from the seed tannins. A well crafted wine with its modest pleasures.

Good fruit, wood on initial pour. Cherry with length and wood on finish, but muddy, inexpressive. Decanting. 24 hours later, fruit flavors emerge - cherry and then strawberry jam with length. Tannins also soften, with slight seed bitterness and a pleasing low level of rough (chewy) skin astringency. If you have the patience, good value in a Margaux-adjacent wine. Decant, else age this.

Decanted for 30 minutes. Dark fruit, charcoal, cedar, and cinnamon notes. Good now but better with more time.
