Classic cdp on the nose, which is exciting. Rocks, scorched earth, black tea, leather, tobacco, soy, dried cherry, blackberry, smoked meats. Amazing texture, viscosity, and acidity. This is not a spiked, flabby and jammy cdp like most of what I am seeing now. Pure dark earth and dark fruit, and intense minerality ok the finish. This is a wine to ponder over. As it opens sweeter spices emerge... It makes a marked evolution in the glass in a very interesting way.

2011 - dried cherry and cranberry, anise, roasted red pepper and vine-ripened tomato on the nose. Meaty, tannic, and spicy palate with a finish for days!
