Domaine de la Terre Rouge
Fiddletown Viognier
I’m usually wary of Viognier, but this was unusually fresh and drinkable.

Jun 22nd, 2020Waxy honeycomb, ginger spice, and bruised white flowers. Pretty awesome for 6 years old and being a white wine. Could see it drinking better in it's younger days. Close to over the hill. Had the 2009 about a month ago and it was over the hill. Drank this bottle on 6/18/16

Jun 19th, 2016Orange, honey, and flowers. Well done and I am sure it will age nicely.

Jun 1st, 2015Farmed by a dear friend, begrudgingly tried (I'm often wary of viognier), totally delicious. Sometimes ya gotta branch out...

Mar 23rd, 2013Bottle aged roussanne and marsanne are what first turned me on to Bill Easton's whites. But the viognier he grows in Fiddletown is released earlier and drinks beautifully from day one. Apricot, beeswax, clementine and crushed rock. Bright with great acidity and the midpalate richness of neutral barrels. Easily another 5-7 years ahead.

Dec 13th, 2020A club member described this as "the pitter patter of bee feet" and I couldn't agree more! Honey, pollen, wax, slate and bruised orchard fruit. Great acidity and almost no oak detectable.
