Les Fremiers Pommard 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Very elegant. Lots of herbs and spices. Could use some more age.

Lots of secondary notes around a softer core of light red fruit. Not much experience with this producer but feels like it was more expressive in youth.

Garnet, reddish to pink outer..earth, roses, wet earth, compost, a strange hint of green.. Underlying black fruits.. On the palate big bold ripe fruit, black berry black cherry and Violet's and earth!

Herbal and wintergreen inflections, but still good purity.

Excellent purity and nice depth.

Tannins are rich, round, and much better balanced than Roumier MSD CdlB 2009.

Silky for Pommard. Very pretty. Still needs a decade.

Currant-y fruit, subtle dried meat, mineral, and not much else. The wine seems to be somewhat shut down at this point.

My favorite Pommard producer.
