While no one would accuse it of subtlety, there's lots of craft here. Mineral, oak, citrus fruit, a whiff of smoke. It all hangs together well, medium to full bodied. Went nicely with seafood pasta but I think it would really shine cutting through something creamy. Retails for $50 at lcbo, which is on the high side but I've paid more for lesser wines; decent value for a California Chardonnay, perhaps because the appellation is not that well known.
