Ok. So this is merlot and today we were at Eataly in NYC and had a Friulli red. Tough competition. The nose is fairly subtle good fruit, woody notes. Light body, cherry flavored , soft soft tannins. Mild acidity. Pleasing and as someone else said "not offensive".
