A dry Zinfandel with hints of smoke, this great food wine is on the heartier side of medium-bodied, without the thick jamminess if many California Zins, and weighs in at a relatively restrained 14.5%.

Apr 16th, 2015This Dry Creek Valley Zin is surprising, made in a slightly Bordeaux-like style, with a medium thick tannic body, spice, bright cherries, and a splash of chocolate biscotti up front, leading into a pleasant tingly finish. It is a new face for the Zinfandel varietal and may turn the heads of those who are not enamored of the typical syrupy sweet high-alcohol California approach. Works nicely as a cocktail wine.

Jan 22nd, 2015Ready to drink now with soft tannins and finesse not expected for a young zin. Love the nose and color. Smooth finish. Perfect wine to drink on its own but would also make a versatile pairing with heartier dishes.
