There is a smokey thing happening in the front and then comes blackberry. There is a bit of bacon too, lurking in the back. Nothing out of the extraordinary. The palate shows a strong acid backbone but curiously it's rather vertical. There is not so much matter which is odd when I check it against my previous côte rôtie encounters but it's rather wide. Blackberry all along, some lively tannins, with a bit of a drying effect. There is a bitterness in the end. Well, I sure expected a bit more weight and matter but it's not unpleasant. The last côte rôtie I had was jamet's 2008 so yes we are in a different, inferior league here, but it's still good and enjoyable.
