Petite Sirah

"Odedi"

Deep inky in color with a very short purple rim.

Fruity nose with blackberries, black plums, currents, cooked cherries, raisins, dried figs, wood, licorice, vanilla, spices, chocolates, mocha, diet coke, leather, earth, light vegetables, vinaigrette, alcohol and peppercorn. Nice complexity on the nose.

Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, black currants, coffee, oak, earth, vanilla, mocha, coke, licorice, spices, peppercorn, tobacco, dark chocolates, coffee and spices.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.

This Californian Petite Sirah from Russian River Valley is delicious. Drinking very nicely now as a five-year-old. Rich, inky and dense. Big and bold with teeth staining color.

Needs an hour to open up properly and show some tannins. Really nice after 2 hours of airtime, so please be patient.

Will even get better in the next 3 to 5 years, as more complexity shows up. If you are into a big and bold wine, this one is for you.

A good wine to drink all by itself or with food. A good sipping wine.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

A blend of 90% Petite Sirah, 5% Zinfandel and 5% Syrah. A small production of only 152 cases produced.

14.6% alcohol by volume .

92 points.
