This is a delicious Petite Sirah from Russian River Valley.

Showing a really gorgeous nose.

Full-bodied with medium acidity.

Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with a nice mouthfeel.

Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, raisins, earth, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, herbs, spices, tobacco leaf, dark coffee, dark chocolates and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 8-year-old is drinking very nicely now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 years. Showing nice complexity at this point. Rich and extracted.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime.

Spicy and entertaining. Fruit forward and engaging. Good by itself or with food.

A blend of 90% Petite Sirah with Zinfandel and Syrah. A small production of only 6 barrels.

Deep inky in color with a very short purple rim.

Fruity nose with blackberries, black plums, currents, cooked cherries, raisins, dried figs, wood, licorice, vanilla, spices, chocolates, mocha, diet coke, leather, earth, light vegetables, vinaigrette, alcohol and peppercorn. Nice complexity on the nose.

Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.

This Californian Petite Sirah from Russian River Valley is delicious. Drinking very nicely now as a five-year-old. Rich, inky and dense. Big and bold with teeth staining color.

Needs an hour to open up properly and show some tannins. Really nice after 2 hours of airtime, so please be patient.

Will even get better in the next 3 to 5 years, as more complexity shows up. If you are into a big and bold wine, this one is for you.

A good wine to drink all by itself or with food. A good sipping wine.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

Deep dark ink color with a wide brim and violet undertones. An inescapably fruity nose of black currant, blackberry cobbler, and coffee. Pretty intense spice, dried cherries, and dark chocolate continue on the nose. This is a big bruiser of a wine but it still shows it’s svelteness at times. In the wrong hands, this could have gone terribly awry but everything here is handled so well.

You don’t run across Petite Sirah bottlings everyday but sometimes you get lucky. Full bodied with slightly racy acidity and almost hedonistic in nature. There is plenty of restraint shown here. It never comes close to being like those other wines. You know which ones. Tons of nice spice on the palate along with more dark fruits. A little cinnamon and dried strawberries with a dab of cream. Big beefy and bold, really nice stuff.
